Drangar consists of the well established icelandic musicians Mugison, Jónas Sig and Ómar Guðjóns. The topic of the album is about our everyday hassle as modern people, raising families and watching ourselves step into our parents footsteps, the cycle of generations.
So we found it fitting to base our imagery around porcelain dishes which where popular collectors items for the generation before us, something that we have grown up with hanging on our parents and grandparents walls and have become a part of their ambience. We created new illustrations that related to the album and incorporated part of the lyrics into the dish illustration. Illustration by myself, design and art direction by Jónas Valtýsson.

My first solo exhibition, Traustur vinur (True friend), was held at Gerðuberg in Iceland 2013.
In this exhibition we met a group of individuals, people and creatures that up till now have only been visible to their best friends. Children and grown-ups from all over the world shared with me beautiful stories about their current or past imaginary friends which I then illustrated.
I'm selling both the originals* and prints of each artwork, you can order it by email:
* Studio Erla & Jonas is donating the complete sales worth of the original artwork to the Children's Hospital in Reykjavík.

Innocence is a beautiful thing we loose when we grow up and learn how to act in modern society. We see bad things where there are none and we become afraid of natural behaviour and curiosity. Kids on the other hand, are still open and brave.
These illustrations are available in limited prints, contact me if you want to buy one.

The quality folks at PIPAR\TBWA ad agency wanted to make a pop-up book showing all of the educational buildings that The University of Iceland has built with the money from it's patrons and lottery participants.
They got the legends at RVX, Reykjavík Visual Effects, to build and animate this virtual book which I then got the honor to illustrate.
We wanted the illustrations to add a little bit of an adventure and courage to rather institutional buildings, so watercolored sketches was the style we ended up with. Allowing the colors and lines to flow freely and creatively on the paper.
This was such a fun project to work on and I'm extremely proud of the result.

In 2011 the good people at Íslenska Auglýsingastofan hired me to illustrate an ad campaign for Icelandair.
The idea was to introduce all their different destinations to people with beautiful visual ads that remind us of an old scrapbook.
I did the hand drawn and painted illustrations.
Jónas Valtýsson and Dóri Andrésson art directed the campaign which was in printed media, television and online.

Ethan Johns is releasing his first solo album soon, called "If Not Now Then When", after a long and successful career as a record producer.
The album cover was designed by Jónas Valtýsson and I did the illustrations for it.
All the songs on the album have an individual illustration.
There's only a few of the illustrations here, so if you want to see the rest, make sure you get yourself a copy of this amazing album.

In April 2012 I participated in a group exhibition with artists from muses.is.
The show was held in Ísafjörður on the west coast of Iceland and was during the music festival there called "Aldrei fór ég suður" ("I never went south").
All the artists made an individual artwork and this is mine, called "I never walked on land".

I did the illustrations for Ólafur Arnalds album called Living Room Songs.
Every song on the album has a unique illustration that represents each song.
The idea is that the audience can frame their favourite song and make it a part of their own living room.
My talented husband, Jónas Valtýsson, did the cover design for the album.
